THE DRESSING ROOM

The Dressing Room is where you prepare very your own personal SiSSYFiGHTer for a long and arduous day at school. You'll have to pick a hair style, hair color, facial features, skin tone, and then you get to pick a name.

Click around to pick your styles and colors. Your selections are reflected in the mirror. If you want something unexpected, pull on the lever for a random SiSSYFiGHTer. Type in your name in the space under the mirror.

Once you're satisfied, click the OK button. The game will check to make sure you're not using someone else's name. Then you're free to go on to the Homeroom - or to register your SiSSYFiGHTer so she'll be waiting for you when you return.

If you ever feel like changing the look or name of your girl, you can always come back to the Dressing Room. But you can't change your girl's name -- if you want to play under a different name you'll have to create a new SiSSYFiGHTer.

REGISTRATION

After you've created your SiSSYFiGHTer in the Dressing Room, you can register and become an official member of the SiSSYFiGHT 2000 community. Once you register, your very own customized girl will be waiting for you every time you play. Registered players also earn Brownie Points every time they play and compete in the SiSSYFiGHT rankings. You can read more about Brownie Points in the Rankings section of the website.

To register, fill out the form that appears in the Dressing Room. Enter your e-mail address and a password. If you ever forget your password, we'll email it to you. You can also sign up for the SF2K email newsletter that will keep you on top of special events and improvements to the game.

HOMEROOM

The Homeroom is where all the good little SiSSYFiGHTers hang out until recess, when the real action begins out on the playground. In the Homeroom, you can gab with the other girls and then jump into a game when you're ready to rumble.

The ongoing Homeroom chat is displayed on the left side of the screen. To say something, just click in the box below the chat balloon, type your message, and hit enter. To see a list of the girls in the chatroom, click on the "Homeroom Attendance List" button.

Above your SiSSYFiGHTer is a blackboard listing all of the SiSSYFiGHT games in progress. The name of the game is written in white, with the players names in colored letters. You can join an open game by clicking a blue "join" button on the left side of the board.

Other games might be closed, either because they have a full complement of six SiSSYFiGHTers, or because the fighting has already started. Next to these games you'll see the words "Full" or "Fighting" instead of a blue arrow.

If you don't see any open games, try starting your own! There's a button at the bottom of the blackboard that lets you do this. Clicking it will change the blackboard into a screen that asks you for the name of your new game.

In the bottom right corner of the Homeroom are a mute button that turns off the sound and a Help button that brings up this page.

THE SCHOOLYARD (How To SiSSYFiGHT)

Three to six girls can play in a game. Everyone starts out with 10 Self-Esteem points. When other girls, humiliate and abuse you, you get really embarrassed and lose your self-esteem. If your Self-Esteem goes down to zero, you become, like, totally mortified and a loser and have to sit out for the rest of the game.

To begin a game, everyone in the game room must press the START button. If there's a girl who won't press START or who is being a real brat, you can vote to BOOT her out of the game by clicking on her. If everyone else in the game votes to BOOT someone, that girl gets sent back to the homeroom and can't join that game again.

For each turn, you have about a minute to choose a single action. When the timer runs out and the turn is over, a series of snapshots will pop up on the screen. Click through them to see what happened to everybody. The SiSSYFiGHT normally continues until all but two girls have lost all of their self-esteem. If you're extra-devious, though, you might be able to screw everyone else over and enjoy all the glory for yourself! And I know this sounds harsh, but in some cases, it is possible that there'll be no winners at all.

Chatting

CHATTING is especially helpful when you want to organize a group attack on one particular girl. It's also good for taunting and insulting girls you don't like. You can CHAT at any time during the game, even if you lose all your SELF-ESTEEM and become a total loser. To CHAT, just type in what you want to say and press Return.

Attacking

To attack someone, first click on the person you want to abuse, then choose one of the following options:

When you SCRATCH a girl, she loses 1 self-esteem point.

If you TEASE a girl, along with someone else, she will lose 2 self-esteem points for each girl that teases her. If you TEASE her by yourself, it won't do anything.

When you GRAB a girl, she won't be able to SCRATCH, GRAB, or TEASE anyone else on that turn. If someone else SCRATCHES her while you're GRABBING, the SCRATCH will be twice as effective. If more than one person GRABS a girl in the same turn, she will lose 1 self-esteem point.

The TATTLE is a super-powerful attack that makes every other girl in the game lose 3 points. Be careful with your tattles. You can only do it twice in a game, and if other girls tattle in the same turn, the teacher will not believe any of your stories and you will all get in trouble and lose 3 self-esteem points each.

Defending Yourself

For defense, click on yourself and choose one of the following:

COWER lets you dodge a single GRAB or SCRATCH. It also makes you look innocent, so that a TATTLE won't affect you. But be careful! If you COWER too much you'll look like a 'fraidy-cat and lose self-esteem. When you COWER for no reason (if nobody tried to GRAB or SCRATCH you, and nobody TATTLED) you'll be warned not to do that again. On the next turn, if you COWER for no reason again, you'll lose 1 self-esteem point. If you choose another action besides COWER, or if you COWER for a good reason (GRAB, SCRATCH, or TATTLE) then you won't lose a point. On the turn after that, the "warning" goes away so you can COWER again if you want.

LICK YOUR LOLLY(pop) after you've lost some self-esteem and you'll feel better and get back 2 points. Since LICKING YOUR LOLLY makes you look innocent, if someone TATTLES on you while you're doing it, the TATTLE won't effect you. But, if you are SCRATCHED or GRABBED while LICKING YOUR LOLLY, you will choke on it and suffer double damage. You can only LICK YOUR LOLLY 3 times in a game.

MESSAGE BOARDS

At the Sissyfight Message Boards you can talk with other Sissyfighters, away from the frenzied chaos of playground scuffles. You can discuss maximum humiliation strategies, send private messages to other Sissyfighters, or just hang out and gossip.

There are several message boards based around different themes. When you enter the message boards you'll see a list. The main message board is The Lunchroom, where you can talk about anything related to Sissyfight; the other boards are more specialized. You can click on the name of any message board to enter it.

READING
Once you're in a message board you'll see a long list of topics. Each topic consists of one or more posts which you can read by clicking the topic name. The most recent topics are at the top. If there are too many topics to fit on one page, the NEXT and PREVIOUS arrow buttons are activated so you can go from page to page. You can click the UP button to go back to the Entrance Hall. When you click on a topic to read the posts, you'll see all the posts from that topic, in the order they were posted. Clicking the UP button from that page takes you back to the topic list.

If you see a gold star by the name of a topic, that means it was made since the last time you used the message boards. If there's a gold star by the number of replies for a topic, that means there have been new replies since your last time. The gold stars will also show up when you're reading posts, so you know which ones are new.

POSTING
If you want to post on a message board you'll have to click Login in the grey menubar. The message boards use the same name and password as Sissyfight. Once you've logged in you can go back to the Entrance Hall and click the message board where you want to post. Now you have two choices -- you can start a new topic, or you can reply to someone else's post in an existing topic. The NEW TOPIC button is at the top of the topic list page. There's a REPLY button on every post, so you can pick exactly which post you want to respond to -- if you're not responding to any particular post, you should press REPLY on the very first post in the topic.

MESSAGE BOARD RULES
Before you post in a message board you should read the rules that have been set for that board. You can find the rules from the topic listing page, by clicking the INFO button underneath the name of the board. You can be more naughty on some boards than on others! However, the Sissyfight Honor Code applies at all times. Keep in mind that the message board moderators have the right to edit or delete a message you wrote if they feel it was inappropriate. If your message was edited you'll see a little note at the bottom saying who did it, and when. Also, the moderator will probably contact you to let you know.

PROFILES
If you click on a Sissyfighter's name (next to a post she made, for instance) you'll see some information about her. This is her profile -- you can make one for yourself, too. If you're logged in, just click Edit Profile and then Basic Info to enter details about yourself and your Sissyfight playing style. You can also use Edit Profile to change your viewing preferences for the message boards.

OTHER NEAT STUFF
When you're logged in, you can also send and receive private messages from other Sissyfighters. If you have new private messages waiting for you, you'll see a little red number like this: (2) in the menu next to "Check Private." There are other neat features on the message boards, like a search engine and the Who's Online page, which shows you who's been using the message boards recently.

FANCY POSTS (for advanced users)
If you want to get fancy with your posts, to make words bold or italic, or put in links and pictures, here's a handy guide of the markup codes you can use. All you have to do is type the codes around the words that you want to fancify.

VIEWING MODES (for advanced users)
In addition to the viewing preferences in your profile, there are some viewing modes you might want to know about if you want to become a super expert message board diva. The first option is expanded or collapsed. You can change this mode at the top of the topic listing page. Ordinarily the topics are collapsed -- you just see the name of the post that started the topic, and how many replies there are. If you change the mode to expanded, you'll see all the posts for all the topics, organized as "threads." A thread is a tree-like format that shows which posts were made in reply to other posts. All the replies to a post are listed underneath that post, and the replies to those posts are listed underneath them. (Try it, you'll see what we mean.)

You can also read posts as threads when you're inside a topic. Normally the viewing mode when reading a topic is flat, where you read all the posts one after another, in the order they were posted. If you change the mode to threaded you'll only see one post at a time, with the "tree" of the thread displayed underneath so you can jump to another post. We suggest you use flat and collapsed instead of the more complicated expanded and threaded modes, but some people really prefer threads, so they're there to use if you want.
